Not sure what to do with your airline miles?
Want to help make a difference and support a student?
One of the major expenses for College of Music students that makes participation in concerts, competitions, and auditions difficult is the cost of travel. In order to help make these experiences more affordable, the College of Music has established the Miles for Music program.
Miles for Music will match donors with students who need travel assistance. Donors will receive an in-kind gift credit from Michigan State University.
If you would like to contribute to the Miles for Music program, please fill out the registration form by clicking on the airplane button. After submitting the requested information, you will be contacted by the College of Music University Advancement office to set up your sponsorship. Or, if you prefer, for more information, call the College of Music Advancement Office at 517-353-9872.

COMMON QUESTIONS:
Please Note: Currently, MSU does not have formal partnerships with airlines; however, MSU can use transferable airline vouchers or tickets on a case-by-case basis to support students. Fees associated with the gift of miles will be the responsiblity of the donor. We encourage you to check with the carrier directly about donation limits and fees associated with your transfer miles.
Tax Deductibility: The IRS recognizes award points and miles as a gift or an award from the corporation to the individual. Therefore, points and Frequent Flier miles donated to charity are not considered tax deductible. However, MSU will give the donor soft credit for the gift of the miles.
