Michael Largey wins Alan Merriam Prize for his book Vodou Nation: Haitian Art Music and Cultural Nationalism
Michael Largey’s book Vodou Nation: Haitian Art Music and Cultural Nationalism, published by the University of Chicago Press, was just awarded the Alan Merriam Prize from the Society for Ethnomusicology for the "most distinguished, published English-language monograph in the field of ethnomusicology." Largey is associate professor of musicology/ethnomusicology and chair of the musicology area at Michigan State University.
