The Michigan State University College of Music held its inaugural commencement on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 4:00pm.  With excitement permeating the air, the stage of Wharton Center's Cobb Great Hall was filled with a large majority of the college's faculty in support of this memorable occassion.

In addition to the faculty were MSU Board of Trustees Joel Ferguson and Don Nugent, Senior Associate Provost June Youatt and Chairman Emeritus James Niblock.  Also in attendance was William D. Brohn, class of 1955 and well known orchestrator/composer, who served as the college's first commencement speaker.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held for the graduates and their families in the Grand Foyer, which was filled with smiles, pictures and conversation.
