Alumnus John Studzinski '92 leads group of young musicians

The Willis Junior High Jazz Band under the direction of Michigan State University College of Music alumnus John Studzinski '92 of Chandler Arizona has been selected to perform at this year’s International Midwest Clinic in Chicago this December.  They are thrilled to be the only Junior High Jazz Band selected to perform at the world’s largest International Music Convention.  The Midwest Clinic is attended annually  by approximately 15,000 bands, orchestra directors,  musicians and composers.  The event attracts musicians from all fifty states and thirty additional countries.  The 2009 clinic will be held at the McCormick Place West in downtown Chicago.

John Studzinski attended Michigan State University and received his Masters degree in Applied Trombone from the School of Music in 1992.  The Willis Jazz Band will feature guest soloist Dean Sorenson on trombone and Shelly Berg on piano.  The band will perform at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 16th, 2009.
