Alumni lead 'State of Art' Winterguard to win International World Championships

'State of Art' Wins Winterguard International World Championship
MSU's 'State of Art' Winterguard participated for the first time at Winterguard International (WGI) World Championships on April 3, 2009, only to earn the title of WGI Independent A Champion!
On Thursday, April 2, the guard took first in their round in WGI Prelims with a 92.3, the highest overall score for prelims. They then claimed first in the Knaub Division of semi-finals on Friday, April 3, with a 91.6, also the highest overall. Seeded first going into Finals that night, the guard remained there with a final score of 95.5.
Led by Director Orlando Suttles and Peter Eichler '06, the unit reached a new level of technical achievement and was promoted to compete in a higher class for 2010. Keep an eye out for the 2010 edition of 'State of Art'!
